Currently, the share of self-organised sports in public open spaces is growing. Unlike club sports, these initiatives are often organised spontaneously and individually. As a result the demands on existing public spaces increase. Parks and green corridors are particularly affected.
Twelve best-practice projects show that urban sport activities can already be considered when designing open spaces and public buildings. The collection is intended as an impulse to actively integrate spaces of movement into urban environments. Each project description includes the design approach, the implementation process and the specific elements for movement and sport.
